What's Happening?
Works will start soon to improve the lighting at the Forrest Park Croquet Club.
Forrest Park Croquet Club and the City received a grant under State Government's Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF) to improve their lighting. The works are anticipated to start in June.
There is no expected disruption to Forrest Park users, as the works will be within the Croquet Club property boundaries.
New LED directional lights will be installed, replacing the existing old metal halide lights. The LEDs are much more energy efficient, better for the environment, less maintenance and have outputs between 200-300 LUX.
The existing infrastructure will be used where possible with only the luminaries replaced.
The new installation will be tested and independently certified to ensure they meet Australian Standards in relation to light spill and glare.
Please Note
A benefit of the new lights to the Club is that they will allow members to play high quality games in the evening. Another benefit of using LEDs is the light can be accurately centred on the pitch, allowing for less light spill to the wider area.
