Advisory & Working Groups

The City has a number of Advisory and Working Groups to advise Council on specific matters.

For the 2015-17 period (until 20 October 2017), the following Advisory and Working Groups will exist within the City of Vincent

Arts Advisory Group
This Group plays an important role in encouraging and promoting Arts in the City of Vincent, particularly through the provision of expertise and opinion to the City regarding its public art commissions and percent for art acquisitions.

Business Advisory Group
(Up to 5 Business Representatives - 1 from each of the recognised Town Teams: Leederville Connect; Mount Hawthorn Hub; Beaufort Street Network; North Perth Local and On William; plus, 3 Persons with relevant local Business experience)
This Group provides an important role in advising the City on the attraction, retention and growth of businesses in the City and encouraging investment, prosperity and growth in the local economy.

Children and Young People Advisory Group
(Up to 6 Community Representatives with relevant experience in Youth Issues)
This Group acts in an advisory capacity to identify, advocate for and explore ways of addressing the issues and needs of children and young people (up to 18 years of age) in the City.

Claise Brook North Community Liaison Group
(Up to 3 Community Representatives)
The purpose of this Group is to work with local residents and small businesses to prepare and oversee a community response to the State Government’s specific proposals in relation to the Claise Brook North Precinct, in particular proposed rezoning of the Precinct.

Environmental Advisory Group
(Up to 10 Community Representatives having specialist knowledge and interest in environmental and sustainability issues)
This Group plays an important role in advising on environmental matters in the City, particularly in the areas of waste reduction and water and energy efficiency initiatives.

Pedestrian and Cycling Advisory Group
(Up to 6 Community Representatives with interest in walking and/or cycling and an interest in community affairs)
This Group acts to support and enhance safe and efficient walking and cycling in the City of Vincent and to improve the awareness of the rights of pedestrians and cyclists and encourage responsible riding.

Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group
The Working Group is intended to identify issues and topics of importance surrounding the development and implementation of a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to be adopted by the City of Vincent.

Road Safety Advisory Group
(Up to 10 Community Representatives, including Business)
This Group plays an important role in considering and providing advice to the City on a range of transport, traffic and road safety matters.

Safer Vincent Crime Prevention Partnership
(Up to 7 Community Representatives, including External Organisations/Representatives)
This Partnership plays an important role in exploring, encouraging and promoting ways to enhance safety, security and crime prevention within the City.
