Replacement Attachment 4 - Item 11.1 Adoption of the Annual Budget 2026
Subsequent to the preparation of Item 11.4, Attachment 4, the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety published updated prescribed building fees on 12 June 2026, effective from 1 July 2026.
The updates include:
• a 10% increase to the minimum application fees prescribed under Schedule 2 of the Building Regulations 2012; and
• an increase to the maximum application fee for local government approval of battery-powered smoke alarms under Part 8, Division 3 of the Building Regulations 2012.
As a result, 17 regulatory fees and charges contained within Attachment 4 have been amended to align with the revised State Government prescribed fees. The amended fees will apply from 1 July 2026.
