Application for Residential Parking Permits

Residential Parking Permits are issued in accordance with Parking and Parking Facilities Local Law 2007, Development Conditions and Policy 3.9.3 relating to Parking Permits.

CONDITIONS GOVERNING RESIDENTIAL PERMITS

Permits are issued subject to the following conditions:

  1. When first applying for permits, proof of residency papers must be provided.
  2. Residential Permits must be displayed in the lower left-hand corner of the vehicle's windscreen, thus ensuring its visibility to the Rangers from outside the vehicle.
    1. Infringements will be issued if any Permit is not clearly displayed.
  3. Permits do not guarantee a parking space in the road/street/zone shown thereon.
  4. The Permit may only be used for parking on the road designated and between the cross streets identified on the Permit, except on occasions nominated by the Council.
  5. Permits do not remove the requirement to comply with the local law for the following areas:
    1. 30 minutes or less time limit Loading Zones
      No Stopping Footpaths, Driveways or Verges
      No Parking Bus or Taxi Stands
      Clearways Alfresco Dining Areas
      Ticket Parking Stations / Zones
  6. Where special areas have been set aside for Residential Parking Permits will only be valid in those areas.
    1. Vehicles displaying Permits outside these special areas will be subject to the restrictions governing the section of road in which they are parked.
  7. Should you leave your present residence, the Permits must be removed immediately from the vehicle and a new Permit applied for if required.
  8. Permits will not apply until displayed on a vehicle.
  9. Council reserves the right to revoke any Permit at any time.
  10. The Permit is valid only until date of expiry.
  11. Permits cannot be issued for use on commercial vehicles.
  12. The replacement of Permits will incur a charge of $28.00 per permit.
  13. Alternatively, you may be able to obtain a temporary parking permit from our Administration and Civic Centre.
