Children and Young People Advisory Group

At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 16 November 2021 the City appointed Cr Castle and Cr Alexander to the Children and Young People Advisory Group for the period 1 January 2021 to 21 October 2023. Cr Castle will continue to act as Chair of this Group. 


This group acts in an advisory capacity to identify, advocate for and explore ways of addressing the issues and needs of children and young people (up to 25 years of age) in the City.

The Children and Young People Advisory Group aims to:

  • Foster communication between schools and relevant community groups
  • Support the needs of children and young people up to 25 years of age
  • Replace the City's former School Principals Advisory Group
  • Replace the City's former Youth Advisory Council
