Hundreds of trees will be planted across the City of Vincent's neighbourhoods as part of its annual planting season.
Members of the Parks team, who were joined by Mayor Alison Xamon, planted the first out of 300 new trees on a Mt Lawley street on 21 May.
The tree was a Red Flowering Gum (Corymbia ficifolia) from the South West, which would grow to about 10-15 metres tall and offer plenty of shade and a food source of bees and birds.
Trees will be planted on streets and parks.
Each new tree is watered twice a week as part of Vincent's watering program.
Residents can also offer a helping hand and give extra water to these trees so they can have the best start.
More information can be found on the tree planting page.
