Playground Upgrades: Brigatti Gardens, Hyde St Reserve and Britannia

Three well-loved playgrounds across Vincent are set for an upgrade in the coming year, and we’re seeking community feedback to help plan the makeovers.

Over the years, these playgrounds have brought plenty of play to local families, but they’re now looking a little tired and out-dated.

We are asking people to take a few moments to tell us what they (and their little ones) would like to see, at whichever of these playgrounds they use, by completing a short survey on:

  • age group suitability
  • layout and design
  • equipment
  • soft fall surfaces
  • shade

Brigatti Gardens Playground

Brigatti Gardens is little inner-city oasis located on the corner of Broome and Wright Streets in Highgate. It is a beautiful tree covered park with a playground, barbecue and plenty of shade, perfect for relaxing, spending time with family or casual exercise.

Hyde Street Reserve Playground

Built in 2004, this fully gated playground located on Forrest Street in Mt Lawley, is surrounded by shady trees, making it a cosy place for family gatherings and smaller events with young children.

Britannia Reserve South Playground

Constructed in 2006, this fenced and shaded playground at Britannia Reserve in Leederville has long been a favourite for families visiting the southern end of the reserve.

These projects are part of the City's playground renewal program and are being funded through the 2025/26 Capital Works Budget.

Visit Imagine Vincent for more information and to have your say.

This consultation closes 4pm Monday, 11 August 2025.
