Fun in the summertime in Vincent

An afternoon of jazz in Hyde Park, a return of St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Leederville and a massive retro party to mark six decades of Beatty Park Leisure Centre.

This is just a sample of what’s in store for our community as the weather warms up and the City of Vincent summer events season kicks off.

The free and inclusive Pride Fair Day- which broke records last year with about 15,000 attendees and more than 100 stalls - is returning to Hyde Park on 13 November.

On 25 and 26 November, Beatty Park is hosting a sixties sundowner and a retro family fun day to celebrate its diamond jubilee.

Expect music, mermaids, gogo dancers, bubble art, hula hoops and a Kombi photo booth to capture memories of what is sure to be an incredible weekend.

One of the highlights of next year will be the St Patrick’s Day Festival – a celebration of Irish culture that is coming back to Leederville on 18 March after a three-year pause.

We will also see the return of some of the community’s old favourites, including Jazz Picnic in the Park, the Young Makers Market and RTRFM’s Neon Picnic.

“Following on from the fantastic atmosphere of the WAFL Grand Final and Footyville festival, we’re excited to launch our biggest and most exciting summer events season since the pandemic began,” said Mayor Emma Cole.

“We’re making up for lost time with a bumper summer calendar that will draw people to Vincent and bring some joy to our streets and parks.

“We’ve got something for everyone, with activities for kids, festivals for music lovers, footy for the sport enthusiasts, Christmas celebrations and a New Year’s Eve party for families at Litis Stadium.

“By hosting and sponsoring events across Vincent, we’re able to activate our town centres and public spaces, support the creative economy and help our community groups to thrive.”
