A boost for Vincent’s small businesses

Small business owners looking for funding support can now apply for the City of Vincent’s first-ever Business Enhancement Grants program.

Vincent has developed the program to support business and property owners to make small-scale improvements that enhance the street appeal and functionality of its neighbourhoods and town centres.

Some examples of enhancements include facade upgrades such as painting and structural repair, landscaping, alfresco dining, public art, branding and window improvements.

Grants of up to $5000 are available. Applicants will need to match Vincent’s grant amount in order to be eligible.

“Our diverse town centres are filled with a variety of small businesses such as restaurants, food stalls, retail shops, laundromats, beauty salons and florists,” said Mayor Alison Xamon.

“We are proud to launch our first Business Enhancement Grants program to give a helping hand to local business owners who want to do small upgrades to their buildings.

“The goal is to boost the appeal of our popular town centres and make them even better places for everyone to enjoy.”

Interested applicants will need to organise a chat with a Place Planner, who is responsible for activating town centres through urban design and placemaking, before applying.

The Place Planner will walk them through the grant process and how to maximise the opportunity to improve their business.

Applications will be open between Monday 23 October and Friday 24 November 2023.

More information can be found on the Business Enhancement Grants webpage.
