Proposed Raised Pedestrian Plateau - Matlock Street, Mount Hawthorn

Published on Friday, 4 December 2020 at 9:43:19 AM

To better improve road safety and pedestrian amenity, the City is proposing to install a raised pedestrian plateau on Matlock Street in Mount Hawthorn, just before the intersection of Matlock and Ellesmere Street.

The plateau would be same design as the two located either side of the intersection of Woodstock Street.

The design of the plateau ensures that vehicles moving through the intersection are travelling at low speed which improves reaction times and reduces the potential severity of any accidents.

If approved, the works would be undertaken during the 2021 summer school holidays.
