Coffee is on the house at mystery cafes around Vincent

This Plastic Free July, the City of Vincent is taking sustainability to the streets and rewarding locals who are choosing to go plastic-free.

Throughout July, Vincent staff will be popping up at select cafes across Vincent and offering free coffees to those who bring a reusable cup instead of opting for single-use.

The twist? Locations and times will remain a surprise, making it a spontaneous reward for sustainable behaviour.

These surprise pop-ups are part of the global Plastic Free July initiative, which encourages people around the world to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics.

The campaign celebrates those already making eco-friendly choices, while inspiring others to make small, everyday changes that contribute to a more sustainable future.

In addition to serving up surprise free coffees, staff will be on hand at each pop-up to chat with people about waste education, answer questions, and share practical tips for living with less plastic.

This initiative is aligned with the resource conservation objectives in the draft Enhanced Environment Strategy 2025 - 2030, which is currently out for community consultation until 10 July which will be considered by Council in the coming months.

Vincent is encouraging residents to keep their reusable cups handy this July, because you never know when a free brew might be on the house!
