Artist Profile

Liz Gray

Liz Gray is an Australian based artist whose work reflects the impermanence and transient beauty of the world we live in but hope is always firmly present. She is best known for her large, emotive paintings of women in water, engaging with nature and, most recently, for her collection of luscious floral works.

Liz completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at Rhodes University in South Africa, before moving to Australia in 2006, where she has been deeply inspired by its unique combination of stark, rugged beauty and exotic tropical features. She is presently working on a public artwork for the City of Vincent, which will use copper cut outs to portray figures, flowers, and birdlife interacting and connecting from a distance, in the spirit of the COVID-19 world.
