Leah Grant

Leah Grant’s songwriting skills were forged while growing up on a farm in Dongara. As a teenager, she performed in various bands before moving to Perth and performing as a solo artist.

Her EP ‘Vol 1’ was released on 13 March 2020 through MGM Distribution, the same label as John Butler, Stella Donnelly and Skinny Fish.

The EP features the single ‘Neve’ which touches on Leah’s experience of finding out she carries the BRCA2 gene mutation, putting her at risk of breast and ovarian cancer. The experience has fuelled her recent songwriting and Leah will utilise the City of Vincent’s COVID Arts Relief Project grant to record her next 4-track EP in her home studio, while local filmmaker Sarah McSweeney captures Leah’s work with a behind-the-scenes video of the process.
