Interwoven: Banksia

Interwoven: Banksia

Interwoven: Banksia is a collaborative exhibition from artists Leah Vlatko & Ash Frost, that shares responses to banksias through textiles and illustrations grounded in place and friendship, with interactive works that ask you to respond to your own love of banksia.

The exhibition is open from 10am - 4pm daily.

Sun & Flower Studios (Leah Vlatko) is a WA based love affair with crochet, community and collaboration. Creating works using the skill of crochet, passed down to her at a young age from her Nanna, Leah threw herself into making products with an ethos of slow-fashion, sustainability, and mindfulness. Her work has progressed into creation of works within a fine art context, exploring themes of the natural environment and healing, exhibiting frequently in Whadjuk/Perth.

Ash Frost is a Mid North Coast NSW based artist and arts worker with a soft spot for the South West of WA after working with communities across Noongar Boodjar. With a community arts background, Ash works very collaboratively and is happiest exploring themes and stories with others. Her work explores themes that are of current interest to her, and she thinks of her works as unfinished inventories of fragments. This is often objects found, drawings, & paintings that reproduce familiar scenes to her, like fruits in summer, faces she knows or banksia bush landscapes.

The City of Vincent is a proud major sponsor.
