Artist Profile

Tanya Schultz

Tanya Schultz (Pip & Pop) creates excessively detailed colour-saturated installations from an array of everyday and sweet materials. Her work draws wide inspiration from fictional geographies, tales of geological forms like rocks or mountains coming to life, and paradise mythologies, where we can escape our earthly realities.

Her piece for the City of Vincent will see the transformation of an empty shop space into an excessive celebratory dreamscape, filled with materials such as sugar, glitter, modelling clay, sequins, rhinestones and tinsel.

Tanya has exhibited her work throughout the world including in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, UK, Mexico, USA and New Zealand. Recent works include ‘Together we light up the Sky’ at the Museum of Contemporary Art Queretaro, Mexico; ‘In Search of the Moon and the Sun’ at Taoyuan Museum of Fine Art, Taiwan; and ‘The Cosmic Cave’ at Meow Wolf, USA.
