The City of Vincent’s Public Health team are engaging in education and awareness sessions to promote the Smoke-Free Town Centres project.
There is a strong focus on engaging with young people, given that youth e-cigarette use (vaping) is a serious public health issue.
Since March 2023, Vincent collaborated with The Y HQ in Leederville to promote the project through the Drip Urban Art Program.
The program is an outdoor paint workshop for young people aged 12-25 that provides wall space, paint, and the opportunity to get creative in a safe and supportive environment.

Young people produced a collaborative graffiti artwork promoting the project’s Fresh Air – You’re Welcome messaging displayed at Frame Court Carpark in Leederville.
Fifteen young people attended the program and discussed the prevalence of e-cigarettes within their school environments, and how e-cigarettes can cause a divide between students based on whether they use e-cigarettes or not.
Young people commented on their support for the project and supported the fact that smoke and vape free boundaries included The Y in Leederville, adjacent skate park and green space.
