Change of access on Birrell Street, Mount Hawthorn

Published on Monday, 15 April 2024 at 12:26:16 PM

Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) requires the Scarborough Beach Road end of Birrell Street be permanently closed and become a cul-de-sac. To improve safety, vehicles will no longer be able to turn onto Birrell Street from Scarborough Beach Road. Access to Birrell Street will be maintained via Milton Street.

The change is to support the construction of a roundabout by MRWA at the intersection of Scarborough Beach Road, Main Street, Green Street and Brady Street. MRWA are expected to commence this upgrade in late 2024.

To submit comments about Birrell Street becoming a cul-de-sac or for more information, please contact the City on (08) 9273 6000 or mail@vincent.wa.gov.au. Submissions must be received by 5pm 2 May 2024.
