New Mural for fIFA wOMEN's world cuptm

Have you seen the 80 metre long mural appearing at Dorrien Gardens?

Titled Boorloo Wirin (Perth Spirit), the mural artwork by artists Sioux Tempestt and Seantelle Walsh has been commissioned for Dorrien Gardens (3 Lawley Street, West Perth), an official training facility for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023TM.

Designed to commemorate the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023TM and represent Boorloo (Perth) as a meeting place, Boorloo Wirin (Perth Spirit) celebrates women in sport, multiculturalism, diversity and unity. The contemporary and vibrant work combines Sioux's abstract style with Seantelle's Aboriginal symbols and iconography which recognise the traditional owners of the land, the Whadjuk Noongar people.

The artwork began to take shape on Saturday 17 June with a Community Paint Day, where over 70 community members made their mark on the wall. Participants took part in two hour sessions under the guidance of artists Sioux Tempestt and Seantelle Walsh, to help paint the background of the impressive 80 metre long mural. The mural artwork was commissioned by City of Vincent and Tourism Western Australia with support from Dulux and Perth Soccer Club.
