Oxford Street Reserve Redevelopment

Creating more liveable neighbourhoods

What's happening?

As part of our overall plan to enhance Leederville, we wish to advise that the Oxford Street Reserve Redevelopment works are scheduled to commence on Monday 17 March 2014These works will be undertaken from 7.00am to approximately 4.00pm on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. Works are expected to be completed on the Redevelopment late July 2014.

It’s Leederville’s turn for some sprucing up! The community feedback we gathered last year from residents, businesses, afé crawlers and Leederville lovers is now helping us implement a suite of enhancements and upgrades that will transform the Leederville Town Centre forever. The proposed improvements to Oxford Street Reserve will create a new destination for Leederville. This contemporary ‘urban park’ embraces Leederville’s character and the local lifestyle and is the cornerstone project in our overall program to invigorate the Town Centre.

Thanks for your patience

During construction, around 50 bays (in the Frame Court car park and along Oxford Street) will be out of action as we must ensure it’s a safe work zone for the public. However, as works progress we will open up as many bays as we can. After construction is complete we’ll have only lost 24 bays in the car park – the section where the car park entrance is now. Although we are removing part of a car park, we feel that it is of great community benefit and it will add much needed green space in our City.

Please Note

On occasions, sections of Oxford Street will be CLOSED to traffic in order to enable these works to be expedited safely. These closures will be kept to a minimum with business owners being informed of the closures. To enable the works program to proceed smoothly the surrounding area adjacent to Oxford Street Reserve will be cordoned off, with some parking bays directly adjacent to the Reserve being decommissioned throughout the construction period. Any road closures with detours will be in place in accordance with the relevant Australian Standards and some delays should be expected. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience as a result of these works, which are intended to provide you and the community with an improved level of service.

Oxford Redevelopment as at 28 July 2014
