The City of Vincent elections: two returning and two new Councillors

On Tuesday 24 October the City of Vincent will swear in two new Councillors and reappoint two existing Councillors at a Special Council Meeting.

The Local Government Elections ran during October and ended tonight (Saturday 21 October).

Jonathan Hallett and Joshua Topelberg have retained their seats in the South Ward, the new Councillors representing the North Ward will be Joanne Maree Fotakis and Alex Castle. They have all been elected for a term of four years.

The full results of the election count are:

South Ward:

  • Mai Nguyen – 1,457
  • Joshua O'Keefe – 1,285
  • Jonathan Hallett – 1,546
  • Joshua Topelberg – 1,548

North Ward:

  • Joanne Maree Fotakis – 1,791
  • Ryan Dawson - 992
  • Alex Castle – 2,053
  • Aaron Olszewski - 853

“I would like to congratulate all the candidates who ran, welcome the new Councillors Joanne and Alex to our team and congratulate both Josh and Jonathan who were successful in retaining their seats,” said Mayor Cole.

“We have a fantastic team at Vincent. I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with all Council members, with Josh, Jonathan, Alex and Jo sworn in on Tuesday night.

“I feel we are so fortunate to live in Vincent, where locals are community minded and truly care about their neighbourhoods. All candidates who ran should be commended for stepping forward, running a good campaign and seeking to represent our great City,” she said.
