We are thrilled to announce that the City of Vincent won the "Place Process Award" at the 2018 Place Leaders Asia Pacific Awards Ceremony held in Melbourne on 15 March.

This international award recognises the unique, innovative and industry leading approach that the City takes in delivering great places in partnership with our local community.

“Our place based approach is something that we pride ourselves on, that we believe is innovative and inclusive, and which turns the traditional local government approach on its head. Our town centres, main streets, Town Teams and engaged local communities provide the unique fabric and character that makes Vincent a great place to be" - Mayor Emma Cole.

“This is fantastic recognition for the unique and highly effective way that we work across our organisation and with our community to deliver great results throughout the City." - CEO Len Kosova.

The official jury citation for the award stated that "This project is innovative and demonstrates the City's ongoing commitment to local based place-making. The jury was impressed with the well-articulated phases of the 'Place Management Approach' and its exceptional level of integration across all relevant stakeholders. From the delivery of major projects, to the implementation of Town Centre Place Plans, and the creation of 'place teams' comprised of residents, business operators and land owners, this strategic approach ensures that place-making is responsive to changing and challenging economic, governance and cultural environments, in a way that is proactive, inclusive and ready for disruptions."
