In February, the City of Vincent helped Orange Sky Australia launch their Social Impact Washing Program at Leederville Oval.

Orange Sky are known for providing free laundry services to people doing it tough in the community. Recently, they have developed a new initiative to help the Australian homeless find employment opportunities.

Social Impact Washing Program

The program involves washing items like tea towels, aprons and towels for local businesses with the help of our friends on the street. During a wash, the Orange Sky team work towards finding employment for the participating homeless volunteers.

The project is supported by a City of Vincent Collaborative Grant. Orange Sky completed their first Social Impact Wash in Vincent on February 26 and will be holding more sessions in the future.

Orange Sky Co-Founder Lucas Patchett said he is thrilled to see the project expanding;

“We are so excited to be launching the SIW program outside of Brisbane and can’t wait to see how it can impact the lives of our friends over in Perth. Thanks to the support from the City of Vincent for helping to make this happen.”
