North Perth Common is the City fo Vincent's flagship open space project with a $750,000 budget. Thank you to the WA State Government for the support and $250,000 contribution to the total project cost.
The North Perth Common Project is broken into 2 phases. Phase 1 includes the design and development of a Town Square and Phase 2 will be the development and delivery of an urban design concept to link View and Angove Street together. This will totally transform the North Perth Town Centre.
The corner of Fitzgerald Street and View Street was chosen as the site for the North Perth Common Town Square (Phase 1). This location is in the heart of the North Perth Town Centre and is wedged between the North Perth Plaza Shopping Centre, the Post Office, and directly links to the historic North Perth Town Hall on View Street.
North Perth Common is only 50 metres away from the heavily used North Perth Plaza bus stop on Fitzgerald Street.
133 well written and detailed submissions from the local community have directly informed the chosen location and will influence the future design of the North Perth Common Town Square.
The North Perth Common Town Square will significantly improve the surrounding pedestrian environment. This space will transform from a place design for cars to a comfortable place for people to sit, eat, watch an event and meet friends.
