For the next four days we are following restrictions recently announced by Premier McGowan as Perth transitions out of lockdown.

The transition period starts at 12.01am early tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and will end at 12.01am early Saturday morning.

  • Our playgrounds and Leederville Skate Park will reopen.
  • Our library, customer service centre and community centre will be open, however a 20 person restriction and 4 square meter rule applies. Some programs will be affected by capacity restrictions.
  • The outdoor pool at Beatty Park Leisure Centre will be open with capacity restrictions. The gym will be closed and fitness classes cancelled. Memberships will be suspended until Saturday morning.
  • This week's Ordinary Council Meeting will proceed, with capacity restrictions - so please watch on our live stream.
  • Kerbside bin collections will continue as usual.

City staff will be working from home where possible in line with State Government advice. We encourage residents, ratepayers and customers to contact us via our website, email or telephone in the first instance.

"It is great news that staying home has had the right impact and that we can start getting back on track, with restrictions and our masks on, tomorrow,” said Mayor Emma Cole.

"Thank you to our community for keeping safe, to our local businesses for adapting once again and to everyone who marked ANZAC Day from driveways at dawn.

"We will need to keep up our vigilance as we move forward, with our masks, hand sanitising and using the SafeWA App.

"To our business owners in need of guidance, our health team remain available for advice on what the latest restrictions mean for you.

"A huge thank you for a great effort by all!"
