Located in North Perth, the Kyilla Community Farmers’ Market is all about bringing people together and providing a meeting point to source farm-direct and locally-made produce, whilst catching up with friends for coffee and brunch.
Held every Saturday, the market also provides a vital platform for handmade and budding ventures to showcase their wares.
The idea originated from a group of Kyilla Primary School parents as a way of fundraising much needed resources for the school, and to create a vibrant, regular event that would benefit the wider North Perth community.
Co-founder Carli Keane says, “It's so fantastic, 5 years on, to see the Kyilla neighbourhood connecting with the broader community and making the choice to support the farmers and producers directly."
Joining in the celebrations on the day, City of Vincent Mayor Emma Cole says, "The much loved Kyilla Community Farmers’ Market is a local success story and an integral part of our community. It brings together great produce and friendly stall holders, in a relaxed and welcoming setting, that is enjoyed by residents and visitors of all ages."
"It is an amazing achievement to reach this 5 year milestone and I congratulate the organisers and volunteers from Kyilla Primary School, their P&C and the Market Committee. They have worked so hard to make this market a weekend favourite in North Perth.”
Market regular and Principal of Kyilla Primary School, Jo Hine says “This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to celebrate the market’s ongoing success, which has been made possible not only by the parents of Kyilla, but also the vendors and those that visit regularly.”
