The City of Vincent is encouraging organisers to apply for sponsorship funding to help them bring their COVID-19 safe festivals and events to the community in 2022-23.

The City supports events which encourage cultural opportunities that make Vincent a lively and connected place for people to enjoy.

Applications for the City’s Festival and Event Sponsorship 2022-23 funding program are now open.

Event and festival concepts that can change and adapt to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic are desirable.

Mayor Emma Cole said the City was here to help organisers get their events off the ground, even if there were uncertainties given the current COVID-19 pandemic.

“We understand it’s a difficult climate to plan events, however we want to encourage people to request sponsorship for an event concept that would be able to adapt and change with COVID-19,” she said.

“If organisers are uncertain about the timing of their event or any other factors, the City of Vincent will be flexible and support them get their event up and running when the time is right.

“We are here to help in any way we can.”

Ms Cole said events and festivals were loved and well-attended by Vincent residents and people across the Perth metropolitan area.

“During the pandemic, local events have become a beacon for the community and attendances have been strong,” she said.

“Through October to December last year, events like Pride Fair Day, Jazz in the Park and Little Day Out brought a lot of joy and sense of connection.

“We urge organisers to apply for sponsorship funding so they can continue to bring fantastic events to the Vincent community.”
