Expressions of Interest for Audit Committee

Expressions of Interest are invited from City of Vincent residents and ratepayers to join the City of Vincent Audit Committee (Committee) as an external member, commencing in October 2020 until the October 2021 local government elections.  The Audit Committee comprises of City of Vincent Elected Members and external members, with a total of up to 7 members. Meetings are held approximately every 6 weeks on Tuesday’s at 12.30 - 2pm.

The Committee is responsible for reviewing and making recommendations to Council regarding financial management, risk management, internal controls, legislative compliance, and internal and external audit planning and reporting. Full details are available in the Terms of Reference.

To nominate please complete the online form. You will need to demonstrate your relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience of the following:

  • business or financial management/reporting;
  • risk management systems and procedures;
  • internal business controls; and
  • legislative compliance programs.

The submission period will close at 5pm on Monday 12 October 2020. Council will appoint the new external members at the 20 October 2020 Council Meeting.  

The Local Government Act 1995 prevents the City from paying the external Audit Committee members, however reimbursement of all expenses including reasonable training and professional development costs will be provided.
