EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR MEMBERSHIP ON CITY OF VINCENT COMMITTEES AND ADVISORY GROUPS 2021 - 2023

Nominations are invited from City of Vincent residents and ratepayers to contribute to the City of Vincent’s decision-making by becoming a member of a Committee or Advisory Group.

Audit Committee – up to three (3) external independent members

Nomination Criteria –
• business or financial management/reporting;
• risk management systems and procedures;
• internal business controls; and
• legislative compliance programs.

Arts Advisory Group – up to ten (10) community representatives

Nomination Criteria –
• expertise in all artforms inc. visual, performance, literature, music, photography/film, etc
• representative of –
o culturally and linguistically diverse community
o young and emerging artists
o aboriginal community
• expertise in public art and its place in the community

Children and Young People Advisory Group - up to six (6) community representatives

Nomination Criteria –
• representatives from a P&C, Board or Council of a local school;
• community member(s) with active involvement in the areas of children and/or young people;
• representative of youth organisation(s) located within or providing services to children and young people in the City of Vincent;
• active member(s) of one of the City’s Town Teams with involvement in children and/or youth issues.

Reconciliation Action Plan Working Group - up to six (6) community representatives

Nomination Criteria –
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community representatives.
• work with or represent the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community on a professional level.
• lives or works within the City of Vincent or is regularly engaged with the Vincent community, who is interested in reconciliation and its potential to influence the culture of the Vincent community.

Sustainability and Transport Advisory Group – up to ten (10) community representatives

Nomination Criteria –
• protecting and enhancing the natural and built environment;
• facilitating safe and efficient modes of transport;
• improving awareness of the rights of vulnerable road users; and
• encouraging responsible driving and riding.

To nominate please provide a current copy of your resume and a summary to demonstrate your relevant qualifications, knowledge and experience in respect to the relevant Nomination Criteria identified for each Committee/ Advisory Group. Nominations are to be submitted to Governance@vincent.wa.gov.au. 

The nomination period will close at 5pm on Wednesday 3 November 2021. Council will appoint the new external members / community representatives at the 16 November 2021 Council Meeting.
