CEO Len Kosova has announced he will be resigning from the City of Vincent at the end of September to spend more time with his family and explore new opportunities.

“I’ve spent the last 23 years working in local government, the last 16 years at an executive level and I’ve been especially proud of the results achieved over the past four years at Vincent. I feel that now the organisation can continue on its positive trajectory without me; and I can now focus on me and my young family,” said Mr Kosova.

“My time at the City of Vincent has been incredibly exciting, rewarding and also challenging, as we have strived to do more and be more for our community and ourselves.”

“It has been an absolute privilege serving the Vincent community and working with all past and present Council Members and our wonderful staff that are Team Vincent. I am proud of the teamwork, trust and collaboration built between Administration and Council. This positive relationship has enabled us to well and truly punch above our weight.”

“Together we have been able to achieve great outcomes for our community and have cemented Vincent’s brand and reputation as a leader in the local government sector,” he said.

Mr Kosova has given over five months’ notice to allow time for the City to recruit for a new CEO and to finalise a number of key projects including the adoption of the 2018-19 budget, adoption of the new Corporate Business Plan and Strategic Community Plan, and on-boarding of the new Acting Director Development Services while the current Director takes seven months paternity leave.

Mayor Emma Cole is supportive of Mr Kosova’s decision and, as a fellow parent of young children, understands Len’s desire for change.

“When Len joined the City of Vincent in August 2014, the Council had committed to a journey of significant reform in the way Vincent serves our community. Len joined us with great passion, good humour and smarts, and he has given the role of CEO 110%. We’ve enjoyed almost four years of Len at the helm of our administration, and Councillors and I greatly value the cohesive and collegiate relationship we have built as Team Vincent.”

“During this time together we have achieved real and meaningful change. Len has driven cultural change and strong performance within our organisation, and this has made the world of difference in delivering some great outcomes for our community. Our finances are in good health, we are delivering projects that our community has asked for, and our passionate and talented staff bring a ‘can do’ approach to their customer service,” she said.

“After 23 years in local government, Len is seeking some long overdue work-life balance outside of the sector, and we wish him every success going forward. Len will remain with us as CEO until 28 September in order to provide a long and smooth transition.”
