Built Form Policy Amendment 2 Final Notice

The City of Vincent Council at its Ordinary Meeting held 16 June 2020 resolved to proceed with Amendment 2 to:

  • Local Planning Policy No. 7.1.1 - Built Form:
    • Landscaping – retaining trees and facilitating the delivery of deep soil areas to support the growth of healthy tree canopy in new developments.
    • Setbacks – setback distances based on the size the development proposed.
    • Building Design – requiring that applicants prepare an Urban Design Study, outlining the main design elements of the streetscape and these be integrated or acknowledged in the development.
    • Environmentally Sustainable Design – new developments demonstrate and achieve the energy performance rating stated in the Policy;
  • Appendix No. 16 – Design Guidelines for Perth: the half-street block bounded by Fitzgerald, Stuart, Newcastle and Palmerston Streets. In this the building height has changed from 4 storeys instead of 3 adjacent to the street; and
  • Appendix No. 18 – Design Guidelines for William Street: Between Brisbane and Newcastle Streets, building height has changed from 4 storeys to 3 adjacent to the street; and 6 storeys to 4 within the sites.

The City provides notice of the finalised policy amendment in accordance with Schedule 2, Part 2, Clause 4(4) of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015.
