On 22 August the Beatty Park Swim School was recognised at the Australian Swim Schools Association Conference in Darwin.

The Swim School received the 2017 National Award of Excellence in Inclusive Swimming. The award recognises how the Swim School promotes and fosters inclusion through initiatives like the Angelfish Swimming lessons, Afghani Girls Swimming lessons, private special needs classes, same sex classes, NO DROWN TOWN clinics and the Aranmore College disability programme.

The AWSOM Project (founded and operated by staff at Beatty Park during their summer holiday break) was inducted into the Australian Swim Schools Association Hall of Fame for Humanitarian work, teaching water safety skills to disadvantaged, disabled and orphaned village children along the Mekong River in Vietnam.

Nikki Grazulis (Swim School Assistant Coordinator) was announced as a recipient of the Coutts Family Scholarship to Finland (selected from candidates throughout Australia and the USA). This programme brings together emerging leaders to plan for the future direction of Swim Schools and give back to the industry.

A great result and one that the team at Beatty Park are justifiably proud of.
