Conditions Governing Residential Permits

1. Residential Parking Permits must be affixed to the lower left hand corner of the vehicle’s windscreen (passenger side) thus ensuring its visibility and the safety of Rangers.

2. A permit is not valid unless clearly displayed where the imprint remains visible to an authorised officer – If a permit is not clearly displayed an infringement notice may be issued.

3. Permits do not guarantee a parking space in the Zone shown thereon.

4. The Permit may only be used for parking within the Zone designated on the Permit as nominated by the City.

5. Vehicles displaying Permits outside these designated zones will be subject to the restrictions governing the section of road in which they are parked.

6. Permits do not remove the requirement to comply with the local law for the following areas

  • 30 minutes or less time limit
  • No Stopping
  • No Parking
  • Clearways
  • Ticket Parking Stations / Zones
  • Loading Zones
  • Footpaths, Driveways or Verges
  • Bus or Taxi Stands
  • Alfresco Dining Areas

7. Permits are not valid on the main arterial roads (boundary of the zones)

8. The Permit is valid until the expiry date shown thereon. New permits will be issued prior to the expiry date. (No need to reapply)

9. Should you vacate your present residence, the permits must remain with the property.

10. Permits cannot be issued for, or used for parking of Commercial Vehicles.

11. The replacement of permits (loss or damage etc.) will incur a charge of $28.00 per permit.

12. Where special areas have been set aside for Residential Parking, Permits will only be valid in those areas.

13. Residential Parking Permits run with the property and are transferable between owner and tenant. Where permits have not been transferred to a new owner or new tenant the City can issue replacement permits, at no cost to the resident. All previously allocated permits will be cancelled.

14. The intent of the parking permit is allow the resident and visitors to their property to park within the nominated parking zone as described on the permit.

15. Residential parking permits are to be provided free of charge to tenants and are not to be sold, leased, hired or provided in exchange for any form of remuneration.

16. The City reserves the right to revoke any Permit at any time.
