Age Friendly Vincent
In the next 20 years, we expect the City of Vincent’s senior population to increase by 75%.
We are currently developing an Age Friendly Action Plan to identify age-friendly highlights, issues and your suggestions for improvement.
The Age Friendly Action Plan will be based around the eight (8) domains of city life, as identified by the World Health Organization.
1. Health and Community Services
2. Outdoor Spaces and Buildings
3. Transport and Movement
5. Sport and Recreation
6. Social Participation
7. Respect and Social Inclusion
8. Communication and Information
At the end of 2016, a number of community workshops were held to collect feedback on how Vincent manages the eight (8) domains above. A survey was also made available (hard copy and online) which provided an opportunity to residents who were unable to attend the workshops, to give feedback on the issues.
A draft Age Friendly Action Plan is now being prepared based on this feedback. This Plan will be presented to the community for further feedback at the presentation below.
