Planning, Building and Heritage Services plays a key role in the development of Vincent. Planning Services creates the visions and strategies for the City, as well as providing procedures for the lodgement and assessment of Development Applications.

Some of the key matters and queries dealt with by Planning Services include:

  • Zoning and rezoning enquiries
  • How can a particular property be developed
  • What types of uses are permitted
  • What development standards are required for a particular property
  • What the future plans are for an area.

At the City of Vincent, Planning Services is divided into two main areas: Strategic Planning and Statutory Planning.

Strategic Planning creates the visions, strategies and initiatives for the future through the preparation of planning framework such as the local Planning Strategy, Town Planning Scheme and Planning Policies.

Statutory Planning deals with the assessment and determination of Development Applications in accordance with the existing planning framework and provides advice with regard to development enquiries.
