Planning Services

The Strategic Planning Services team creates the visions, strategies and initiatives to achieve a sustainable urban environment, and facilitates design and development of the highest quality.  This is delivered through the preparation and implementation of long-term strategies, initiatives and policies.

The Town of Vincent's proximity to the Central Business District, distinct heritage character and five vibrant Town Centres means that it is a highly desirable location for both residential and commercial opportunities.  The Town is currently experiencing a new prosperity and confidence which is reflected in the quantity and quality of development proposals being received and as a result, the Strategic Planning Services team has adopted a proactive approach to strategic land use planning and is facilitating a number of urban design initiatives based on a multi-nodal development pattern.  It also ensures that planning at a local level is consistent with the objectives of the State Government and the Metropolitan Region Scheme.

The Statutory Planning Services team administers the Town's Town Planning Scheme No.1 and associated policies and design guidelines, for the proper and orderly planning, facilitating and managing of uses and development in the Town.  The team also provides procedures for the lodgment of development applications and assesses and determines such applications.
