Safe Disposal of Needles & Syringes

The Safe Needle & Syringe Disposal Strategy was adopted by the Town of Vincent in 1997.
It is the Town’s aim to ensure that the potential of needle stick injuries due to inappropriately discarded needles in the community is reduced. The fact sheet on Safe Needle Disposal will provide further information.

Should you come across a discarded needle or syringe, please click here for the approved method of disposal.

The Town has 30 wall mounted or pole mounted syringe disposal units located at 15 locations, in known “hot spots”. Since the installation of these units, the number of inappropriately disposed syringes found in these areas has reduced dramatically.
