Food Safety

A priority of the Health Service Section is to ensure that safe food is sold from food businesses in the Town of Vincent. Each year food poisoning affects 5.1 million people in Australia and consequences can range from gastroenteritis to death in some cases.

The Town closely monitors all food businesses and requires all businesses to comply with the FSANZ Food Safety Standards.

Food poisoning and contamination complaints must be made in writing using the Town’s Food Complaint Form. Please fill in all relevant details and an Environmental Health Officer will investigate. Prior to making a complaint, it is strongly recommended that you read the Department of Health's Food Poisoning Guide.

The Town has introduced an online food handlers course. Details can be found here.
