Refuse Tipping Services

The Town does not have tip passes as we do not charge rubbish rates. However here are contact details for the Stirling Transfer Station (Balcatta Tip), Brockway and Tamala Park.

The refuse tipping facilities are open seven days a week; however their opening times and fees vary, so we recommend you contact the facilities direct for up-to-date details.

Hazardous Waste

Asbestos, Chemicals and Poisons

Asbestos
Each asbestos sheet shall be wrapped and sealed INDIVIDUALLY in heavy-duty plastic sheeting. Smaller pieces of asbestos should be placed in heavy-duty plastic (not garbage bags) and sealed with packing tape for transport to the drop-off site.

SAFETY WARNING: Sheets should not be broken, crushed, drilled, sanded, sawn or rubbed together. All of these processes may release asbestos fibres into the air. When removing asbestos cement products or handling broken pieces of asbestos, a disposable dust mask and gloves should be worn. Breathing in asbestos fibres or ingesting them may be a health hazard.

Storage of Chemicals

  • Store chemicals in a safe, cool and dry place away from children and pets until appropriate disposal.
  • Keep the product in its original container with the label intact.
  • Each container or chemical or poison is to be individually wrapped and sealed in a clear plastic bag before delivery to the drop-off site.

Note: Leaking, damaged or unwrapped chemical or poison containers will NOT be accepted.

SAFETY WARNING: DO NOT mix chemicals. DO NOT transport chemicals or poisons in the passenger compartment of your car. Put them in the boot and ensure that the containers are protected from damage during transit.
