Advisory Groups

The Town has the following Advisory Groups to advise Council on specific matters:

A list of current representatives on these Advisory Groups can be found here.

Advisory Group Membership runs for a period of two (2) years from the time of the ratification of the Advisory Group by the Council. (Generally for the term from 1 November each year to 31 October of the second year).

Vacancies are filled by calling for nominations of either the Council or community representatives. Members filling a vacated position will hold that position for the two (2) years duration of the convened Advisory Group, as ratified by the Council.

Expressions of Interest

Town of Vincent Advisory Groups

The Town is seeking Expressions of Interest for nominations for the following Advisory Groups for a two-year term, commencing from 1 November 2009 to 15 October 2011:

ART

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objectives
To act in an advisory capacity in the acquisition of artwork and the visual arts budget; act as Judges for the Town’s Art Competition; develop and implement an acquisition policy.

HERITAGE

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objectives
To act in an advisory capacity in all heritage matters and assist with the development of guidelines and management procedures for the Municipal Heritage Inventory.


LOCAL AREA TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

(up to 3 Community Representatives, including Business)

Objectives
To act in an advisory capacity in all local area traffic management matters and assist with the development of guidelines for local area traffic management and advise on matters relating to reducing the adverse impacts of road traffic on residents and businesses in the Town.

SAFER VINCENT CRIME PREVENTION PARTNERSHIP

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objective
To consider and advise on safety and security matters.

SENIORS

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objective
To act in an advisory capacity in all current and future matters relating to seniors, aged care services and the multicultural industry.

SUSTAINABILITY

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objective
To act in an advisory capacity in sustainability matters pertaining to environmental (natural and built), social and economic issues as requested by the Council.

UNIVERSAL ACCESS

(up to 3 Community Representatives)

Objective
To act in an advisory capacity in disability access and equity issues for all services and facilities provided by the Town.
