Objectives


The Redevelopment of Beatty Park Leisure Centre has a number of objectives – economic,
environmental and social.


Economic

  • To deliver or facilitate the upgrading of the facility and infrastructure to meet the
    existing and future needs of the Centre and Town.
  • To identify and secure revenue, investment and cost sharing opportunities to
    fund infrastructure improvements.
  • To maximise the financial performance of the Centre, balanced with
    quality service levels commensurate with industry ‘best practice’.
  • To identify, foster and establish partnerships, alliances and synergies with key
    stakeholders.
  • Implement balanced pricing strategies which take into account the current
    market trends whilst being cognisant of the need to ensure affordability and
    access to a wide section of the community.

Environmental

  • To deliver or facilitate a sustainable, functional, innovative and invigorated
    facility with a high level of amenity which is safe, healthy and attractive.
  • To deliver or facilitate development that complements and respects the character
    and heritage of the Centre, with special attention to the Heritage Act of Western
    Australia.
  • To deliver or facilitate a sustainable development that is ‘best practice’, high
    quality, innovative and environmentally efficient.
  • To deliver or facilitate appropriate provision of universal access, parking and
    other facilities for users and visitors to the Centre.
  • To deliver or incorporate features and systems which are ‘environmentally
    friendly’ and sustainable.
  • To deliver or facilitate development and infrastructure that satisfies the technical
    requirements and performance criteria of the Town and relevant Government
    agencies.


Social

  • To deliver or facilitate a Centre for community and social activities where
    people can meet and interact.
  • To deliver or facilitate a Centre which provides opportunities for the community
    to engage in physical activity and encourages a healthy lifestyle.
  • To deliver or facilitate a ‘community hub’ through the provision of core and
    value-added features and programmes.
  • To create a universally accessible and safe Centre that provides diverse
    activities.
  • To deliver or facilitate a range of services and opportunities to meet the needs of
    our diverse community.
