Fitness appraisals are conducted in the Gymnasium. Males and females over 45 years of age are required to obtain medical clearance from your doctor prior to your appraisal. Your comprehensive fitness appraisal includes:
- completion of a pre-exercise health questionnaire
- resting heart rate and blood pressure
- girth and skin fold measurements
- cardiovascular fitness
- flexibility.
Bookings are essential, please enquire at the Gymnasium.
Your Gym Instructor will accompany you through your first workout. They will help you with your personalised program so you feel comfortable and confident with it. Programs are checked and updated on a regular basis. If you feel you need a program change please consult your instructor.

Circuit training is aimed at developing muscular strength, endurance and aerobic fitness. Circuit classes utilise the circuit room weight equipment and cater for a wide variety of fitness levels, with individuals being able to progress at their own pace. This type of exercise is very good for achieving all round improvements. Circuit classes are conducted under the guidance of an Instructor. Please see Circuit Timetable below for further information.

The aerobics program which include Les Mills Body Pump caters for participants of different fitness levels. If you are unsure which classes would be the most suitable, please approach one of the Aerobics or Gym Instructors for some advice.

Beatty Park Leisure Centre is launching a new Group Fitness program - Les Mills RPM ™.
RPM™ is the indoor cycling workout where you ride to the rhythm of powerful music.
Take on the terrain with your inspiring instructor who leads the pack through the hills, flats, mountain peaks, speed work and interval training. Discover your athlete within - sweat and burn to reach your endorphin high.
Like all LES MILLS programs, a new RPM class is produced every three months with new music and choreography.
Cost - Members - Free, Non Members - $13.00/session (multi entry cards available with 15% discount on 10 session card and 20% discount on 20 session card.

RPM Timetable
Come and participate in aqua fitness. It's a safe and enjoyable water-based exercise class to music held in the indoor and outdoor pools. These classes are suitable for everyone from the complete beginner to the extremely fit. The water offers stability, buoyancy and reduces impact placed on joints when exercising. Class types vary from ‘Deep Aqua’, ‘Aqua Balance’, and ‘Aqua Fit’.
